Neck pain care in Gangnam.
Understand what hurts. Find your next comfortable movement.
Pain persisting after tests or treatment? At YOU ONE in Cheongdam, Seoul, we respect your existing diagnosis and review the symptoms that remain, alongside neck and shoulder function, work, sleep and activity goals. Acupuncture may form part of a plan that also considers joint movement, strength and everyday load.

Start with an assessment.
- Discomfort when turning or holding your head
- Recurring neck and shoulder tension during desk work
- Pain that limits everyday activity or a return to exercise
We ask about the onset of pain, injuries, work demands, medication and any existing diagnosis. Examination may include neck and shoulder movement, strength, sensation and relevant neurological checks. Previous imaging or reports are helpful but are not required. We use the history and examination to decide whether further assessment is needed.
Care, movement and follow-up.
Depending on the examination, care may include acupuncture, electroacupuncture or Chuna manual therapy. We may also discuss mobility, strength, breathing or adjustments to daily activity. Scalp acupuncture or gentle craniosacral contact around the head and neck may be considered for associated discomfort. Choices are individual; we review pain, movement, sleep and daily function over time.
Your care and precautions.
The US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) reports that acupuncture may help some neck pain. Study findings vary by comparison and condition, and response differs between people. We review both symptoms and function when adjusting care.
Care is selected after examination and reviewed with you. Research on condition-specific benefits of craniosacral therapy remains limited. Needling can cause soreness, bleeding, bruising and rarely infection; tell us about medication, bleeding problems and allergies before treatment.
Read the evidence summaryBefore your appointment.
Note which movements or activities trigger pain, how long it lasts and whether symptoms travel into the arm. A medication list and relevant test reports are helpful if available; records are not a condition of visiting. Tell the doctor about previous injuries and treatment, and wear clothing that allows comfortable movement.
Questions before you visit.
What if I also have arm tingling or weakness?
Tell the clinic before booking. Symptoms extending into the arm need medical assessment; the clinician may recommend further investigation or another service before treatment. NHS guidance advises seeing a doctor when neck pain is accompanied by symptoms such as pins and needles or a cold arm.
Do I need a scan before visiting?
A scan is not a prerequisite for every visit. The need for imaging or referral depends on your history and examination. If you already have reports or images, please bring them.
Can I continue working or exercising?
We discuss which movements are comfortable, what aggravates symptoms and how to adjust your activity. The plan depends on the cause and current severity of your symptoms, rather than a single posture rule for everyone.
Let’s plan the next step.
English consultations are available, with translation apps when helpful. Allow around 60 minutes for your first visit and leave extra time if needed. Tell us your main concern, activity goals and how long you will be in Korea.
